How do you accrue pension benefits at StiPP?

Are you accruing pension benefits at StiPP or doing so again?
StiPP is the pension fund for temporary workers and seconded employees. All employers in the temporary employment and secondment sector are obliged to affiliate to StiPP. If you find a new job as a temporary worker or seconded employee, you remain with StiPP or come back to it.

In which scheme are you going to accrue pension benefits?
This depends on the pension scheme in which you previously accrued pension benefits. And how long ago it is that you accrued pension benefits at StiPP. Sometimes previous memberships of the pension scheme count when deciding whether you will be registered in the Basic Plan or the Plus Plan.

Read here to see what happens if you remain in the sector or return to it.

Registration

Your employer will register you with StiPP. It will pass on your details to StiPP every month. StiPP will send your employer an invoice for the pension contribution. This is how you accrue pension benefits.

If you have previously worked as a temporary worker or seconded employee but are new to StiPP, you can read more about your registration as a new member at StiPP.

Is your new employer affiliated to StiPP?
An employer in the temporary employment and secondment sector is obliged to affiliate to StiPP. Some employers have StiPP’s consent to use a different pension scheme. View the list of affiliated and exempt employers. If your employer is unable to provide you with any pension scheme at all, please contact the Foundation for Compliance with the Collective Agreements for Temporary Employees (SNCU).
